FAQ

The questions advisers ask us most often. If yours isn't here, get in touch.

What is One Advisor?

One Advisor is practice management software for financial advisers. It covers four areas: your users and structure, your client and policy book, commission reconciliation, and compliance work such as sanctions screening and client documents.

Who is it built for?

South African advisory practices, from a single adviser through to multi-branch firms. The organisation, branch and adviser structure in the platform is designed around how an FSP is actually arranged.

Can I bring my existing client data across?

Yes. The client module has an Excel import wizard that walks through upload, column configuration, verification and import, so you can see what will land before it does. There is also a merge tool for cleaning up duplicates afterwards.

How does commission reconciliation work?

You import the commission statement a product provider sends you. One Advisor matches entries against your clients and policies using a reusable template for that provider's format, surfaces anything it could not map so you can resolve it, then splits the commission between the advisers entitled to it based on rules you set.

Does it handle FICA and sanctions screening?

Yes. FICA records are held per client, and clients can be screened against sanctioned individual lists either one at a time or as a bulk background run across your whole book. Matches are reviewed in the platform and a verification report can be downloaded as a PDF.

Which compliance documents can it generate?

Disclosure Letters, Service Level Agreements, Risk Matrices, and Records of Advice for investment and personal life cover. Documents are assembled from the individual broker's licence categories, advice scopes and authorised companies rather than from a generic template.

Can clients sign documents online?

Yes. From the compliance record you send the client a link by email. Before the document opens they enter a six-digit PIN, sent by SMS to the cell number on their client record, so you know it was them and not whoever the email was forwarded to. They read the document, sign it and submit. The signed copy comes back automatically and is stored against the client. It works on a phone.

Can advisers be limited to their own clients?

Yes. Each user is given a scope (the whole organisation, a branch, or just their own records), and client access can be narrowed further per user. Separately, every protected action requires a specific permission, granted through roles.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on the size of your practice and which modules you use. Request a demo and we will talk you through it.
